Our purpose is to teach the next generation of sailors and conduct international amateur sail boat races in Passamaquoddy Bay.
The Passamaquoddy Yacht Club is a sailing organization whose locale is the entrance to Passamaquoddy Bay, creating a triangle of hailing ports - Lubec, Maine; Eastport, Maine; and Campobello Island, New Brunswick. The Club is a non-profit corporation.
The Passamaquoddy Yacht Club emerged from the original Campobello Yacht Club, which was established in 1930. One its first members was Franklin Delano Roosevelt who summered on the Island and fully appreciated the art of sailing. The Passamaquoddy Yacht Club officially adopted the Campobello burgee in 1988. The Club has received, with thanks, special permission from the Passamaquoddy tribe to use its name.
